BOUCHES-DU-RHÔNE

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the old arms of the Provence, the area to which the province historically belonged. The arms of the Provence show a label and a fleur-de-lis in a blue field. The present arms are canting, and show the mouth of the Rhône river (Bouches du Rhône).
