Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on August 30, 1994. The flaming heart refers to the local Ignatius chapel, a well known place of pilgrimage for over 300 years. The heart refers to Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit Order. The wavy bend symbolises the Leine river in the municipality. The axe is a symbol for clearing the forest (roden in German), and thus is a canting symbol. Contact and SupportPartners: Your logo here ?
