Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 25, 2000.
The village is situated on the Eider river and shipping on the Eider has been the most important activity in the village for centuries. The arms thus show a typical Eiderkahn (a boat locally used on the Eider) and two wavy bars for the river itself.
