The arms of Padron show a boat. It represents two disciples of St. James taking St. James (Santiago) from Jerusalem, where he was killed by King Herod, to Padron, where the body landed, whereupon it was taken to Santiago de Compostela. He is accompanied by the Cross of Santiago and his symbol, the scallop.
