Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 5, 1981.

The arms symbolise partly the geographical situation in the area, the typical mountains around the Prüm river. The blue colour symbolises the colour of the granite in the mountains, but is also derived from the historical blue and silver colours of Luxembourg. Until 1800 the village belonged to Luxembourg.

The wheel in the lower part is the wheel of a plough and symbolises the historical agricultural character of the village.
