Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 21, 1983.
The arms show the castle of Balsareny, on a hill near the river Llobregat. The village was the centre of a barony (note the baron crown at the top), that was bought in 1281 by Ramon de Peguera (the arms of the Peguera family, a crowned red lion on silver, appear here twice at both sides of the castle).
