Origin/meaning

The arms were devised in 1936 after the merger of three small municipalities. The waves symbolise the Neckar and its two tributaries, the Jagst and the Kocher. The state symbol is derived from the seal of the former municipality Jagstfeld, which was used since 1797. The horse is taken from the seal of Kochendorf, which was used since 1820.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
