Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 27, 1957.

The stork head is taken from the seal image of the Vierkircher, an aristocratic family that named itself after Vierkirchen and has been mentioned since the middle of the 12th century in connection with the Weihenstephan and Indersdorf monasteries.

The design of the municipal arms followed the seal of Dietreich Viechircher from 1378, who had worked as a judge in Kranzberg since 1375. The colors white and blue refer to the Wittelsbach sovereignty and the affiliation to Bavaria.
