History: Formed at Heliopolis, Egypt in February 1944.

Origin/meaning

The Egyptian God Ra was also known as "Lord of the Sky" and "King of the Two Horizons". As Heliopolis was the site of his Sactuary it is considerated that He makes an appropriate Badge for the Unit. The badge was granted in june 1945.
