Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on February 19, 2021.

The wavy chevron and the blue and silver colours refer to the many streams and rivers in the municipality. The apple refers to the local famous cider production. The oak leaf refers to the oak forests and the garb with 12 ears of wheat refers to the agricultural character of the area and the main village and 11 hamlets in the municipality.

The chief is based on the arms of Champagne and Burgundy, the municipality being located on the borders of the two provinces.

The inescutcheon shows the coat of arms of the Des Essars family, former lords of the village.
