Segundo, de gules, tres castillos de oro bien ordenados, con una cadena de oro que cuelga de las almenas de los dos castillos del jefe y de cuyo centro pende una llave de oro. Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 14, 1959.
The right half is the coat of arms of former municipality of Realejo Alto. Flags and lances are symbolizing the treaty of peace, signed here on the day of St.James, symbolized by the cross above. The left half is the coat of arms of former Realejo Bajo. The towers are supposed to be fortresses, having existed in this territory, but no one knows exactly.
