En campo sinople o verde, la Cruz de Pelayo en Jefe, con una media luna abatida, y en punta el famoso puente sobre el Sella con ondas de azur y plata, completandose con una orla de oro, y en letras de gules la leyenda "Mínima Orbium, Máxima Sedium".

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 9, 1945.

The arms show the local medieval bridge over the Rio Sella that runs through the town. The cross and crescent refer to the famous battle at Covadonga in the municipality, in which the Christian Don Pelayo destroyed a Moorish army.
