Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on October 12, 1999.

The red castle symbolizes the Galindian fortified settlement, a defensive structure around which Jedwabno developed in the 14th century. The base refers to both the rivers and lakes of the area as well as to the defensive functions of the former castle. The cormorants are a symbol of the richness of the local fauna.
