Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on May 25, 1988.
The flower is taken from the arms of the medieval Von Broistedt family, who originated from the village. The family use dthree flowers in their arms. The flower is a typical flower for the originally rather wet area and can still be found near the village.
The miner's tools refer to the formerly important mining activities in the village.
