Official blazon

Escudo de prata, torre torreada de azul, lavrada do campo, aberta e iluminada de ouro, com grades de negro e entre seis telhas de vermelho, postas e alinhadas em duas palas, três e três, pé ondado de verde e prata. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas : “ SANTA BÁRBARA - LOURINHÃ “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 18, 2000.

The tower is a symbol for St. Barbara, the local patron saint. The tiles symbolise the local pottery and tile industries. The waves symbolise the Atlantic Ocean.
