Escut caironat: d'or, una àliga bicèfala en repòs de sable bicoronada a l'antiga, carregada al pit d'un escudet de gules amb tres palles d'or posades en banda. Per timbre, una corona de comte.

Origin/meaning

Sort was the chief town of the county of Pallars, and the arms of the town are the same as the counts: Or, a double-headed eagle Sable with a scutcheon Gules with three straws Or inside, that is canting: the straws are named "palles" in Catalan; on the top of the arms, the count's crown. These arms are used officially by the town council since 1959.
