Official blazon

In Grün über zwei gekreuzten, aufrechten silbernen Schwertern drei pfahlweise gestellte silberne (heraldische) Rosen mit grünen Butzen zwischen zwei begrannten Getreideähren.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 3, 1991.

The roses in the middle of the arms are taken from an altarpiece in the local church, one of the oldest churches in the county. The swords represent the latter part of the name (Hastedt), which is supposed to mean army-place (barracks, fortress). The wheat ears indicate the importance of agriculture.
