History: The Badge Register gives that the Squadron was formed at Filton in February 1941, other souces gives Catterick February 1918.

On the waves of the sea all an ancient ship in full sail in flames. In this hull of the ship was brown; the superstructure azure; the sails argent and the flames gules.
Motto: Occido redeoque
Origin/meaning
The Badge symbolises the Units success in destroying enemy shipping. The Motto translates as ”I kill and return”. The Badge was approved in June 1943.
