ANTALIEPTĖ
County : Utena
Municipality : Zarasai
Lithuanian | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 5, 2000.
The small bridge is canting: "antaliepte" refers to "place on / at a small bridge" in Lithuanian. The cross both refers to the local church of Discovery of St. Cross and symbolizes the merits of monks (monasteries existed there in 18-20th centuries) for the enlightenment of local people. Blue symbolizes loyalty and fortitude of the local people.Literature: Rimsa, 2004
