Official blazon

Unter Schildhaupt mit den bayerischen Rauten in Rot ein goldener Kamm mit vier Zähnen.

Origin/meaning

The arms first appear on the oldest known seal of the town, dating from 1514. The arms basically have not changed since, except for several variations in colour and the number of points to the comb.

The chief shows the diamonds of the Wittelsbach family, Dukes of Bayern and Lords of Eschlkam since 1204. The lower part shows a canting comb (Kamm in German).
