German Gespalten; vorn vier rote Schrägbalken in Silber, bedeckt von einem nach links gewandten blauen Pfau; hinten in Silber oben nebeneinander drei rote Rosen, darunter ein schräggestelltes und gestütztes rotes Schwert.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 7, 1977.

The bends and the peacock are taken from the arms of the Counts of Wied, as the area belonged to the county Wied. The sword and roses are taken from the arms of the Lords von Raubach (see Ruabch), as the area was part of the Raubch area of the County Wied.
