Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 13, 2000.

The alder tree (amieiro) is a canting element. The saw and ax refer to the importance of the timer industry in the village, the anvil refers to the former important smithies and metal working.

The base refers to the rivers and streams in the parish.
