RAF STATION HEMSWELL, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History:Bulit in September 1918 and until December 29, 1936 known as Harpswell.

An ermine proper salient.
Motto:Bold and tenancious.

Origin/meaning

The Ermine is indicative that the Station is located near the Ermine Street. The Ermine is also a tenancious animal choosing often to fight to the death rather than abandon its attack. The badge was granted in October 1958.
