History:Raised in 1759 as the 16th Light Dragoons, or Burgoyne's Light Horse, which in 1961 become 16th (The Queen's) Lancers. In 1922 amalgamated with 5th Royal Irish Lancers, British Army to form 16th/5th Lancers.
