NO 848 SQUADRON, FAA History: First formed in 1943 at Naval Air Station Quonset Point, Rhode Island, USA as a Torpedo-Bomber-Reconnaissance Squadron for HMS Formidable in the Far East with Grumman Avenger until disbanded in 1945. Reformed in 1958 as a Royal Marine Helicopter Squadron for 45 Commando.

Official blazon
English Red; a plate charged with a hawk (Accipiter Gentilis) volant proper releasing a torpedo also proper into water barry wavy blue and white.

Motto: Accipe hoc.


Origin/meaning

The Latin Motto translates as "Take that!". The Badge was approved on 16 April 1945.
