Sarkanā laukā zelta lauva, uz krūtīm sarkans vairodziņš ar sudraba siju valsts karoga krāsu samēros.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1925.

In 1443 Megden, the Master of the Teutonic Order built a new castle: Bauske. The rather big town Amt-Bauske is mentioned in 1511.
In 1609 city rights were granted. The arms were granted a little later and showed a golden lion.

After the independence of Latvia the small National Arms were added in 1925.
