WALDPRECHTSWEIER
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Karlsruhe (until 1972 Rastatt)
Incorporated into : 1972 Malsch
Official blazon
In Rot ein vierspeichiges goldenes Rad.
Origin/meaning
Waldprechtsweier was founded in the middle ages by the counts of Malsch. Waldprechtsweier was, contrary to Malsch, not transferred or sold until 1690. Until 1690 it was part of Baden, from 1690 of Rastatt.
A seal of Waldprechtsweier is mentioned in 1571, but it does not exist anymore. The oldest know seal dates from 1764 and shows already the water mill wheel. The wheel at the time still had six spokes, only in the 19th century the number was fixed at four. The present arms were adopted in 1900 and as colours the colours of Baden were taken.
The seal of Waldprechtsweier from the 19th century. |
