HOLLOLA

Region : Päijät-Häme
Former province : Häme

Hollola Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Official blazon

Punaisessa kentässä kohtikatsova hirven pää ja sen alapuolella ruiskuhilas; molemmat kultaa, saatteena viisi hopeista naularistiä, joista yksi hirvenpään yläpuolella ja kaksi päätunnus kuvien molemmin puolin.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 3, 1952.

The arms are based on a decoration on the door of the old church in the village. The scene probably showed a deer head with a cross for St. Hubert. It was translated in the arms as an elk head and several small crosses for the church as such.

The base shows a rye sheaf as a symbol for the local agriculture.
