MICHELBACH
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Rheingau-Taunus Kreis (until 1973 Untertaunuskreis)
Incorporated into : 1971 Aarbergen
Origin/meaning :
The above arms were proposed in 1956.
The oldest known seals of the village date from the middle of the 16th century. This, ans all later seals, all showed the local patron saint, St. Michael, killing the dragon. In the above proposal the traditional image was changed to show only the spear and the dragon, to distingish the arms from many other arms showing the saint.
I have no information whether these arms were actually used or granted.
