Origin/meaning

Lauchheim was a possession of the Teutonic Knights and received town rights in 1402, followed by city rights in 1431. The oldest seal dates from 1448 and already shows the two crossed leeks. These are a canting element (Lauch). The colours were officially described in 1902.

Wappen von Lauchheim

After the mergers with Hülen and Röttingen the arms were changed. The new arms were granted on March 25, 1981.

The black cross of the Teutonic Order symbolises both Lauchheim and Hülen. The deer antler is derived from the arms of the Schenken von Schenkenstein, who owned Röttingen for a long time.
