Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 22, 1948.

The arms are based on an 18^th century seal of Rodalben and Petersberg. The griffin is derived from the arms of the Margraves of Baden, who ruled the village at the time. The griffin is a supporter of the Baden arms.
