Selected collector's items from Germany:

ZIELITZ

State : Sachsen-Anhalt
District (Kreis) : Börde (until 2007 Ohrekreis)
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Elbe-Heide
Additions : 1950 Schricke

Wappen von Zielitz

Official blazon

(de)

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 25, 1999.

The arms are identical to the arms used since 1987, but these were never officially granted. The arms show in the upper half a plough for agriculture, and in the lower half miner's tools for the potassium mining in the area.

In 1937 the village already was granted arms. These showed a sword and a broken wheel (see below, I have no colour image).

Wappen von Zielitz

These arms were based on the seal of the village from 1874 and symbolise the two patron saints of the village, St. Pancratius (sword) and St. Catherine (wheel).
