DRENSTEINFURT
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Warendorf (until 1974 Lüdinghausen)
Additions : 1969 Kirchspiel Drensteinfurt, Walstedde; 1975 Rinkerode
Official blazon
In Blau auf gewelltem, mit 3 Reihen silberner Steine belegten Schildfuß ein linksschreitender silberner Hirsch mit silbernem dreiblättrigen Zweig im Geäse.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1971.
They were newly devised, as there were no old arms available. The deer and twig are taken from the village seal, dating from the end of the 18th century. The stones are a canting element (Stein=stone). The balls are taken from the arms of the Lords of Walstedde, a village, which is now part of Drengsteinfurt. The colours are taken from the arms of the Lords von der Recke, who lived in the village from 1429-18th century.
