Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on May 5, 1991.
The upper part shows the eagle of the Principality of Schwarzburg, the lower the lion of the State of Coburg and the arms of Sachsen. The latter symbolisesthe former Duchy of Sachsen-Coburg.
