Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on July 15, 1981.

The monk is taken from the arms of the Lords von Münichau, a Bavarian dynasty which acted as governors for the Bavarian Dukes in the upper Inn valley in the 15th century. They had one of their seats in the municipality, which is shown by the castle.
