Shield: Per pale Or and Brick Red, a chevron barry wavy of four Argent and Azure, in chief a sea horse naiant counterchanged of the field.

Distinctive Unit insignia, Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 5/32 inches (2.94 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per pale Or and Brick Red, a chevron barry wavy of four Argent and Azure, in chief a sea horse naiant counterchanged of the field. Attacjed below and to the sides of the shield a Brick Red scroll inscribed "HIT THE BEACH" in Gold Letters.

Origin/meaning

Brick Red and Golden Yellow are the colors for the Transportation Corps. The Sea-horse and wavy symbolises the function of the Battalion in operating landing craft, in support of Joint Amphibious Operations.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia, was both approved on 22 January 1954.
