Coat of arms (crest) of the 1st Infantry Regiment Svea Life Guards, Swedish Army

Official blazon

Motto: (not shown) Possunt nec posse videntur = They can do what seems impossible.

Origin/meaning

The lesser Swedish State Arms with the Chain of the Order of the Seraphim indicates a Guards Unit. The Muskets behind the Shield indicates a Infantry Unit. The Svea Life Guards was created in 1792 and in 2000 was ammalgamated with the 1st Cavalry Regiment - Life Guards Dragoons to form the Livgardet (Life Guards). During the Years 1994-2000 the shown Arms was used by the Life Guards Brigade, the Regiment used similar Arms but with two Swords behind the Shield instead of the Muskets. The Motto was first seen on regimental Colours of 1686 Pattern.
