2ND SECURITY FORCES SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Designated as Squadron B, 2 Airdrome Group, on 15 Oct 1947. Organized on 5 Nov 1947. Discontinued on 12 Jul 1948. Consolidated (12 Oct 1984) with the 2 Air Police Squadron, Bombardment, Medium, which was constituted on 28 May 1948. Activated on 12 Jul 1948. Redesignated as 2 Air Police Squadron on 16 Mar 1950. Inactivated on 16 Jun 1952. Redesignated as 2 Combat Defense Squadron on 15 Jun 1959. Activated on 1 Aug 1959. Redesignated as: 2 Security Police Squadron on 2 Jul 1967; 2 Security Forces Squadron on 1 Jul 1997.
