Crest : That for the Regiments and separate Battalions of the South Carolina Army National Guard: From a wreath Or and Azure, upon a mount Vert a palmetto tree Proper charged with a crescent Argent.

Origin/meaning

Green and yellow (gold) are the colours used by Military Police Corps. The Crescent on a blue backgrund alludes to the Flag of
South Carolina. The Rays alludes to the investigation and crime prevention mission of the Battalion. They also alludes to the origins as Coast Artillery.
The Mace a weapon used by Guards, is used to represent the protective services provided by the organization.
