Origin/meaning

Orange and White are the colours of Signal Units. The wavy bend symbolise the River Rhine and campaigns in Central Europe. The colour blue and the potent-counter-potent bands is from the Arms of Ardennes. The Bandes also symbolises Telegraph Poles and thus symbolise the Signal role. The Crest symbolises service in Vietnam in support of the I Field Force, Vietnam.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 21 December 1962.
