5TH ROYAL INNISKILLING DRAGOON GUARDS, BRITISH ARMY

History: Formed in 1922 as 5th/6th Dragoons by the amalgamation of 5th Dragoon Guards (Princess Charlotte of Wales's), British Army and The Inniskillings (6th Dragoons), British Army.
In 1927 the name was changed to 5th Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, being awarded to Royal prefix in 1935.

The Monogram "VDG" surmounted by a crown, In silver plate.

Origin/meaning

The Roman Numeral V allueds to the Regimental Number. The DG si for the Regimental Title of Dragoon Guards.
