86TH INFANTRY DIVISION (NOW 86TH TRAINING DIVISION) BLACKHAWK DIVISION, US ARMY

History: Activated 5 August 1917 as 86th Division. Organized 25 August 1917 at Camp Grant (Illinois). Inactivated in January 1919 at the same location. Assigned 24 June 1921 to the Organized Reserve. Activated, reorganized and re-designated 86th Infantry Division 15 December 1942 at Camp Howze (Texas). Inactivated 30 December 1946 in the Philippines.
