Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A Gold color metala nd enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Tierced in pairle Sable, Gules and Azure, a globe gridlined Or voided of the field, two spears saltirewise with wooden shafts Proper with points up of the fourth, issuant in chief a demi-roundel Argent theron a howling wolf Proper. Attached around the bottom of the shield is a Black scroll doubled and inscribed with "VIGILANT PROSPECTORS" in Gold letters.

Origin/meaning

Red, Blue and White are the US National Colours and also thoseof the Army Materiel Command. The Globe indicates the Worldwide mission. The Howling Wolf symbolises the National Training Center, located in the Mojave Desert in California. Which is the Home of the Battalion. The Crossed Spears represent Teamwork, Military Readiness and might in Wartime Conflict and Peacetime Missions.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was both approved on 30 April 2009.
