Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: Per fess wavy enhanced Azure (Old Glory Blue) and Argent, on a pile reversed Gules a lightning bolt and a sword point up pilewise reversed and a pile reversed Or bearing a Spanish morion helmet Sable charged with a cross patée and embellished of the fourth; in chief the Southern Cross Constellation of the second and an eagle stooping to dexter of the fourth. Attached around the bottom of the shield is a Red scroll inscibed "IN CUSPIS PROVICTORIA" in gold letters.

Origin/meaning

The Southern CRoss symbolises South and Central America. The Eagle represents victory and military readiness. The Wavy partion symbolises the Oceans, Waterways and Coastlines of the Americas. The Lightning symolises the speed with which the Battalion accomplish its Mission. The Spanish Morion Helmet, alludes to US Army South, the Area in which the Battalion operates.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was both approved on 16 July 2010.
