9TH FORCE SUPPORT SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Constituted as 9 Food Service Squadron, Strategic Reconnaissance, and activated, on 1 May 1949. Redesignated as: 9 Food Service Squadron on 16 March 1950; 9 Services Squadron on 1 October 1965. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 1 January 1966. Activated on 15 March 1983. Inactivated on 1 January 1990. Activated on 1 September 1991. Redesignated as: 9 Morale, Welfare, Recreation and Services Squadron on 1 September 1992; 9 Services Squadron on 1 January 1994; 9 Force Support Squadron on 20 May 2008.
