AIDHAUSEN

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Hassberge
Additions : 1978 Friesenhausen, Happertshausen, Kerbfeld, Nassach

Wappen von Aidhausen

Official blazon

  • (de) Im Stufengiebelschnitt geteilt; unten in Silber ein schwebendes schwarzes Ankerkreuz, oben wieder im Stufengiebelschnitt geteilt von Rot, Silber und Grün.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 8, 1982.

The chief resembles a house and stands for the three villages with a name ending on -hausen. The black cross is taken from the arms of the Lords von Dalberg, who had their castle in Friesenhausen and who played a mayor role in the local history. The silver and red colours are those of the State of Würzburg, to which the largest part of the municipality historically belonged. The silver-green are the colours of Sachsen, as the village of Nassach belonged to Sachsen-Coburg until 1920.
