Origin/meaning

The Moose is widely found in the Area. The Field is divided into Blue the main Colour of the Colour of the Akershus Infantry Regiment No 4 and Green the main Colour of the Colour of the Jegerkorpset Infantry Regiment No 2. The two Regiments was amalgamated in 1961 to form the Jegerkorpset-Akershus Infantry Regiment No 4. Which was the Regiment was responsible for the District. It also explains the absence of a FDI 2. The District and the Regiment are now disbanded.
