Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on March 17, 2011.

The current arms show the eye of Providence, which was also part of the 19th century seals of the town.

The arms replaced earlier arms designed in 2008, which were not according to heraldic traditions. These arms showed the letter B, a lightning bolt for industry and a wheatear.

In the process for designing new arms several other proposals were made, one is shown below.
