Arms : Sable, a rainbow proper within a bordure argent.
Crest: On a wreath of the colours, A bezant charged with a demi lion couped holding a torch enflamed proper.
Supporters: On the dexter side a lion; and on the sinister side a lynx, both proper.
Motto: By light to knowledge.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 23, 1956 to the Institute of British Photographers.
