  • (af) Gewelfd deursnede, silwer en blou, in die skildhoof twee swart ankers, in die skildvoet 'n silwer triquetra getop met 'n goue vlam.
  • (en) Per fess enarched, Argent and Azure, in chief two anchors Sable and in base a triquetra Argent ensigned of a flame Or.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 5, 1988.

The arms show the pattern of the different provincial education departments, with in the base a triquetra and flame to symbolise education and in chief a provincial symbol.
